Homeschool Family Organizing Challenge

Homeschooling presents several challenges, chief among them being the fact that we are so often home and there is little time for focused cleaning without children in the house. I see involving my children in the process as part of my mission as a homeschooling parent, but feel I need a "jump-start" from someone with a professional eye to help me get on track with developing a workable, practical system (particularly as I tend to be a bit of a pack-rat and have difficulty distinguishing treasures from trash!). I am not naive enough to see organizing as a one-time event, but rather am looking for help in establishing a framework that I can then involve my family in maintaining on an ongoing basis. My vision is to create a structure that is loose enough to allow for creativity and flexibility but "sturdy" enough to promote maintaining order and a sense of serenity.
