Organize The Freezer

Organize The Freezer?

Do you find yourself hurriedly putting items in the front of the freezer when you arrive home from the grocery store? Have you ever dug to the back of the freezer and come up with a choice steak but discover you bought it over a year ago?

Or perhaps you purchase your meat in bulk but are never quite sure what you have left of certain cuts. If so, it may be time to Organize The Freezer!

Don't worry, this will be a breeze...

Take everything out and get rid of anything you don't recognize :)

Sort into groups:

  • Meat

  • Poultry

  • Fish

  • Vegetables

  • Fruits

  • Desserts

It's a good idea to label and date (most) freezer foods and to put new items toward the rear, so that you are always rotating out what has been there longest.

Store frequently used items such as breakfast foods and juices in the door.

Wire baskets can be helpful for containing items in the freezer but the important thing is to try to keep like items together.

Now it's time to reload and that's it for the freezer!
