How Long You Should Keep Paystubs by: The Organizer
Hi there. I recommend keeping paystubs for one year. Honestly, you may not need them once you have verified that your pay is correct, but from time to time people ask for paystubs to verify income and you might find it interesting to compare one pay period to another. I usually keep the last paystub of the year with my tax papers because it has all of the year-to-date info on it, but I must confess, I've never needed it.
At the end of the year, you get a W-2 form which should be kept with your tax papers long-term. You can find more information on my papers to keep page and in my answer to keeping records.
