Dining Room Cluttered with Toys

My dining room is used as a toy room. It is ridiculously cluttered with toys. It is one of the first things you see when you walk in my house. There is no other space in our house we can use as a toy room until our basement is
finished. How can I organize it so it is easy for the kids to pick up yet look decent at the same time?

Kids Putting Up Toys

Hi there. First I must ask - would it be possible to move the toys to the kids' bedrooms? It would be less of an eye sore if that is achievable. If not, here are my suggestions.

I suggest enclosing the toys in a toy box and allowing each child to play with only one toy or one group of toys at a time. Before they move on to playing with something else, require them to put up the toy or toys that they are playing with.

It may seem limiting at first, but once they develop the habit it is likely to stick with them even after they have a designated play area.
